The incident took place around 8:10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, when local police, fire, and EMS were dispatched to a construction site at 702 Steamboat Road, on a report that a seawall had given way taking a forklift along with it, said Greenwich Police
The forklift operator was shaken up, and wet, after being helped out of the water by co-workers, but escaped serious injury, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
Part of the seawall located at the rear of the property appeared to have collapsed causing the forklift to roll over into the water, he said.
